This morning after Church I went and stopped into the D&D in Duluth and waited to see what interesting person I would meet this morning. They have a bit of a coffee house setup (seems appropriate). I met an interesting guy, retired, as a senior product guy for the furniture industry. It was an interesting conversation learning his path. He is also an economic refugee from upstate NY (I meet people all the time like this). He was an actual student of Buckminster Fuller. I really do like meeting these people with these all very different stories on the airplanes, airports, and coffee shops. It is one of the things I liked about Antarctica. I was alone, but not lonely. There was always someone interesting to meet. The folks in Northern Atlanta often have a life of success and are still very much approachable and grounded. The pic is of Minneapolis in the morning. I never get sick of the views of cities from the air. In a small plane this view is the same. Monday afternoon I am off

At the moment I am in Sioux Falls South Dakota. There are only a few of the 50 states I haven't been. I got stuck in a bit of a traffic jam while someone was helped getting out of their car with the jaws of life. The moon was a bit eerie. Hopefully, I can get a flight lesson this weekend. The weather was bad last weekend. I got a pick of my pilot doing a paper folding demonstration, or something.

Well it happened. I have had 1000 blog posts spanning ten years of this life that will never happen again. Where on earth do I start? What would you do? I suppose it is a time for reflection. Please feel free to put on some music or your choice, because as I post is not my fingertips yet. I think one important thing to realize is that a whole lot of my life existed before the blog. I did a lot of growing and what not before I stated doing this. It has only been 20% of my life that I have been blogging. On one hand that is a lot. On the other hand it is not. I have also learned more about what to blog and what not to blog. I had to put in some mental filters, albeit not many. When I started blogging I did it because it was totally new. It did not exist previously. There was nothing known as social networks, wifi, wikis or twitters. Second Life did not exist. It goes on and on. The "user experience" barely existed. I am certainly not happy with google buying blogger

Here are a couple of pics of kudzu that ate a gas station near where I live. The kudzu is just amazing. It will relentlessly overtake and ultimately win.

I got the bad news about Amy kitty when I was in Finland. She was hit by a car. She was a real princess of a kitty. RIP Amy kitty. Amy is the Kitty on top. Animal Count: 2 chickens, 1 dog, 1 cat, 4 llamas.
I am traveling 5 out the next 5 weeks. Fortunately some of that travel includes travel to and from Berkshire, NY. I fly into NY from Wichita and out to Munich. I definitely have a lot of plates spinning. I have a few more to get spinning before the tight rope walk and the encore. Overall, it is a joy. DJ was down this past weekend. It was great having her here and having someone around to do stuff with. We went to the Shabu Shabu restaurant, the world of Coca-Cola and the Atlanta Aquarium. Not to mention a swim in the pool, the Waffle House and the Kroger. The Shabu Shabu restaurant was excellent. The service really sucked though. They seemed to really be put off by having two round-eyes as customers. Too bad. I am sure we will go back unless we find another Shabu Shabu restaurant where the service is better. The Asian population in some of the areas North of Atlanta exceeds 60%. The world of Coca-Cola was fun. They had a great 4-D movie about coke. Interestingly, I ccaanntt seem

I am back in Duluth, but in reality it might as well be a foreign country. It is all still so new and different. Some things are becoming more familiar, but I need the GPS to find my way around to all, but the simplest of destinations. After living in Berkshire, NY for 10 years, the city life really has shown the deprivation that exists in rural NY state. This week no travel. I am headed to South Dakota and rural Minnesota the week after. I am anxious to get back to Europe (England, France and Germany), but with the Europeans largely on holiday it really isn't practical for a few more weeks. I will be traveling a lot to get ahead of my objectives. I bought a car, finally. The pic shows what the Mercedes (I was planning on buying) looks like after I have had a long chat with myself. I can certainly afford a new BMW or Mercedes. I just know spending money on a fancy car won't make me better. There are lots of opportunities to make myself better (I am looking at a Skip Barber d

It's Friday. I got back from Brazil this morning. I am in the office in the afternoon. Although the flights to and from Southern Brazil are long there is only one hour time difference. That helps a lot. The economy in Brazil is booming by 2010 standards. It has been about 17 years since I was there last. (actually, I felt like this is where I left off) A lot has changed. The food is as good and in likelihood better. There is no understating the food experience of a real Brazilian Churrascaria. They cook different kinds of meat on these swords and carve it at your table as you instruct. The variety and quality is great. The coarse rock-salt laid on the meat is multi-colored very much like Brazilian gemstones and the society itself. It is a wonderful place. I got a bit of a VIP treatment for the photo in the kitchen at one of the best Churrascarias in all of Brazil (Nabrasa in Porto Alegre). I am hoping I can get fish (and eggs) on a sword next time. That would be perfection. Of co
