Always a lot going on..

I have had a serious of "near zero days" (reference hiking jargon), but I think they mostly just seem like zero days. I am getting stuff done, just not at 100% efficiency. Not sure anyone can move with 100% efficiency... Anyhow, I am planning on starting my next journey on May 1st. -- more details as they unfold. I know what I like and dislike. I know what turns me on and off. It's time for that knowledge to be guidance. We booked a trip to Wyoming/Yellowstone park in a few weeks. It will tackle at least three items that have been on my list 1.) Visit Yellowstone (in winter). 2.) A longish snowmobile trip. 3.) A visit to Wyoming. That will be my 50th state. That will make it all US states, 100 countries and all continents. I will likly be getting involved with MTP (Most Traveled People) https://mtp.travel/ where they break countries into regions. I decided I like this music. DiDuLa - "On the way home"

4th of July - Camping, Deer Babies, Wake Boarding

We have had a new resident. Actually there several new residents. A deer decided to have her kids in the back yard. They are here often. I can see them from my Zoom Room, so I apologize if I seem a little distracted sometimes when I am on a video call.

We went canoeing and camping in South Carolina. We were exploring without a lot of planning, so you get what you expect- adventure and discovery. We stopped by the Tallulah Gorge lookout. When I rode my motorcycle through the area in the early 80's, I vowed I would come back. And I have come back-- again. I ate my traditional moon pie there as well.

The Tesla is a great camper. Charge the battery, run the AC and enjoy the filtered ventilation with a nice entertainment system. Crazy. The paddleing wasn't that good. We found ourselves in Lake Keowee. The campground was good if you speak Spanish, and only enjoy power sports on small boats. I am a bit disturbed by the new trend of wake boarding. Instead of skiing being towed by a rope out on skies, these boats intentionaly make huge wakes so the participant can surf on the wake close to the boat. I imagine it can be fun just as water skiing is fun. The issue is these wakes are much larger than historical small boat wakes it certainly wakes kayaking and canoeing much less fun, besides shore erosion.

I spoke at the LavaCon this week. My presentation was very well received. There were well over 100 folks who chose to attend my presentation. Afterwards we had a supplier meeting in Cartersville and a hike up Pine Mountain. https://www.lavacon.org/ It was good to enjoy some brief moments with a llama as part of the conference. And it was good to meet up with lots of folks I have got to know over the years.

Today we went up in the seaplane in the background. It is a 1956 beaver with a 450 HP 9 cylinder radial engine. It was a bunch of fun.

Performance Technologies is a global supplier of telecommunications and networking products We had a meeting at work this morning regarding the new building they plan on building. They were originally going to build just up the street but I guess the lease holders aren't happy about the detention center planned to be built adjacent to our site. The mayor is supposed to sho up here Monday. I guess he is going to try and ply management. They are planning a two story building. I have suggested to them that for a team environment, two stories would not be best. I just have a feeling that I will be stationed on the ground floor while the people who have important things to do will be on the second floor. As a technical writer for over 10 years, I am so incredibly sick of other employees considering my job as secondary or fluff. They consider information as a "fill" or "something nice to offer our customers". These people don't understand that infor...
