Honshu and Okinawa

I am back. I spent 10 days in Japan, 5 days for work on the main island of Honshu and 5 days of solo adventure in Okinawa. Travel is so invigorating dispite the uncomfortableness. Jetlag, anxiety, crowds, and other discomforts aside, it is mind-expanding and rewarding. Work went well. I flew a new airline (Skymark) from Tokyo to Naha. I am always wary of strange discount airlines and all the traps they set. However, I had a great expereince with "Sky". I was actually shocked. Super easy checkin at the airport, no extra fees even with extra luggage. The primary mission in Okinawa was to visit the Peace Park and the suicide cliffs of Okinawa. From what I understand, at the end of WW2 the inhabitants were encouraged to commit suicide rather than surrender to the Americans and get tortured and eaten. I have been moving about a lot. This past weekend I was up in Rochester. I sold my Mom's car and a few other things. Spending time sorting through 30 years of accumulation is time consuming. I did run across the sugar jar I remember from my childhood. It brought back some memories of how I used to dump the sugar on my cold cereal. I am headed to NYC with DJ this coming weekend. We are staying in a friend's apt in Brooklyn. The main purpose of the trip is to pick up my new Coats Model 10/10 Automatic tire machine. It was a great deal. I use the windfall for fun and travel. I should have a vacation in Costa Rica booked this week. I took the following cat picture in the feed store. "Junior" really wanted to be in the middle of things. I had to push him out of the way to sign the credit card slip.
