We had quite a bit of heavy-wet snow this week. The drifts got as big as I can remember around here. They got so big the llamas wouldn't go through them. They get nervous when the snow gets deeper than their legs are long. So I had to shovel a way through the drifts for them. Snowshoeing is on the agenda for later today. There is a barbecue grill and a picnic bench totally hidden in that snow.

DJ got the go ahead to open! So Little Hen Specialty Bakery is having the Grand Opening Saturday February 20th from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. She still has a lot of baking to do and odds and ends to catch up on. Looking at the pictures it is exciting to see what she has done in 3 months. And after 30 years the Crockett House has become a store again, this time as a bakery with all the plumbing and everything. Now the remodeling and renovation work morphs into the advertising and marketing work. http://www.littlehenspecialties.com/

One wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith." The old man fixed the children with a firm stare. "This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too." They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old Cherokee replied: "The one you feed." Yes, a very nice parable. Spending time in PA last week it was interesting to see the impact of drilling the Marcellus Shale. There were growing businesses, activity in the small towns, booked hotels and generally a feeling of prosperity. The active drilling sites had less of an impact (lights, noise etc) than a single mini-market.
