It turns out my truck had a defective fuel solenoid. It is under warranty. At least the mechanic thinks that was the problem.

It turns out my NY inspection was over due by 6 months... man am I am organized and on top of everything.

Waiting and reacting to requests/emergencies and attention getters is not the way. I am refocusing on what needs to get done from my agenda not yours. Sorry, but I know this is a better technique for my personal productivity. Darryl Hudec's home built plane made the cover of Sport Aviation magazine this month. It is a beauty for sure. He flew it in for breakfast this weekend. We had Major Latessa Meader speak at the aviation breakfast this weekend regarding the C-130 aircraft. She is very accomplished in the aircraft. The aircraft is definately worthy of accolades. I had the opportunity to add my experiences with the LC-130 in Antarctica. Some of the traffic I get to expereince a couple times a week is still mind boggling to me. I tried to take a picture of the humanity that lines up on I-75 and often pokes along at 1/10 of the speed limit. You can't see all the lanes in the pic, but it is at least 9. the Tesla FSD helps. I lived thru a Sunday. I spent a lot of time in the library. We watched the debut of "Emperors of the Ice" last night as part the science lecture. The producers/lecturers gave a talk as well. The documentary will be seen this coming year in the US. It is a National Geographic Special. It is pretty interesting to see a film like this one. It is all staged around McMurdo. To my eyes it isn't that exotic anymore. Don't get me wrong. I find it exciting and all that. However, it is like seeing a documentary about your family Thanksgiving day dinner. It is familiar. I have a very busy day today. I actually got quadruple booked today with work and training. That has to get worked out this morning. Here's me in the ham shack. I have a bit of work to do for the shack but we are going to be using 14.243 MHz USB. I will be using the station callsign KC4USV. Schedules are forthcoming.

Essential Wisdom I went to a Toastmaster dinner at the silo last night. I had a good time. It is a lot of fun to watch people give their tenth speech towards the CTM. It definately touches me. It seems that the subtle experiences like that are often more powerful than the ones that are "in your face." What I mean is that with the era we live in with the loudness, bigness, boldness and colorful experiences to get our attentions, these attentions certainly have little to do with the quality of the experience. I am chief judge at the area 11 contest this weekend. I still have a lot to do else ways with winter coming and all.

What a trip! 10 New Countries (based on what the US state dept considers countries) Romania Bulgaria Moldova Serbia Bosnia and Herzegovina Kosovo North Macedonia Montenegro Albania Greece 3 Different Alphabets (many different languages, sometimes with multiple alphabets) 10 Currencies 14 Taxi or Uber Rides 3 Rental Cars 15 Border Crossings 9 Flight Segments 4 Bus Trips All that in 14 days. I am only now convinced that we could complete a trip with those stats, because it is over. It was a complex trip. We tried to take a version of this trip in 2020 but were thwarted by Covid. This time we pulled it off. The Balkan peninsula countries are fascinating because of the deep history, unique cultures, but also with current events and intercountry relationships.
