The Nissan Leaf Gets a New Rear Axle

Well, I finally have a salvage title for the 2013 Nissan LEAF (Actually I dont have the title yet, but I think they mail it to me. We are far from settled with the insurance company for sure. It has been six months since Angie was rear ended. The following chart shows a very sad and disturbing trend. Insurance companies aren't paying out. It should be criminal. I went shopping for a new rear axle so I can get the car driving again. The rear ended axle was so bent, the car couldn't move. The new one with no connecting bits was over a thousand dollars. The cheapest used ones I could find on ebay were over 500 dollars. I finally scored at a local used parts place for 95 dollars (removed) and with associated bits such as bearings, bushings, parts of the brakes. It took me a concentrated day with cancelled and moved meetings to get the axle replaced and the car running again. The accomplishment felt good. Summer brings new friends

Summer is here. I have the AC on occasionally, except for the zoom room, which the AC is on all the time I am in there. Since we had so much rain awhile back, the mosquitos are unbearable. I called for air support from a pest killer company.

June brings new fawns in this area. We have two new ones in the back yard, learning about the world.

There was a nice Pitts Special that showed up at the EAA 690 breakfast this past week.

I picked up another traffic control device. I will add an appropriate relay and sell to someone with a man-cave or bar.

Wisdomino is certainly keeping me busy. I am a professional networker now. A lot to juggle.

The following is the webcam of the Greene airport. This is looking down rnwy 7. So you can see me taking off coming towards you (normally) on 25. I am planning on flying at 5:30 Thursday the 7th of August. I will be doing takeoffs and landings. Not surprisingly, to practice landings you have to do takeoffs. 5:30PM Thursday.. MiningLife - Current Metal Prices Hmm.. is it worthwhile to drive to Scranton PA for bulk coal? I have to get wood out back today snowstorm or not. Also on the list is rear brakes for the Subaru, try out the new llama heater, check the antifreeze on the jeep, burn the trash and some other stuff to be sure.
