Colleagues from Japan

We had two colleagues from Japan join my team for two weeks. It was a great expereince to share cultures, workflows and real work expereince for comparison between the US and Japan. We did lot of activitys outside of work and had some fun. Angie joined for on the weekend activities. It will be a very memorable time for all involved.

I have been in Europe for 11 days, mostly The Netherlands and Finland. Overall, looking ahead, I think I have everyday and evening booked in February.

  • Pic 1. Central Finland in winter at 4:00 in the afternoon.

  • Pic 3. Been on this plane several times now. I like the call sign. "Approach Control, Oh-8 with you at 12500."

  • Pic 6. This is the tractor I am getting if I get back to farming. I only got it stuck once on my test drive.
  • Pic 7. Great Architecture feels like putting on a pair of jeans just out of the dryer.

  • Pic 9. This beer was pretty much unbelievable, the stuff on the side of the glass is known as "Brussels Lace" for good reason.

Regarding your picture/question 10: Looks like La Grand-Place in Brussels/Belgium to me. Correct? :)

Smithville NY I ran my first ever 5K race this morning over in Smithville NY. Smithville is the town that has a great old unrestored mill. The mill captured my attention when I stated looking for property just after I decided to take the job down this way. I hope someday it gets restored. It feels good to do something that is good for yourself for the first time. You have to get over the natural resistance of something new (the biggest hurdle), plan, execute, and reflect. I have now moved into reflect. It was a marathon for me. I am planning on running in the Berkshire Heritage 5k later this summer too. Maybe another one, if there is another one close by. I fueled up last night on some of Bonnie's most excellent Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies. My exercise bike generator project is working now pretty good. Well, they managed to ply loose one of Bonnie's stones. The other big one (6.8 mm)is bypassed with a stint and it awaits lipotripsy. It appears I can take her home tonight.

Hubble vs. Webb: How Far Will They See? The phone company came and moved their wire yesterday. I am pretty much ready to backfill everything. I have had a couple of consultants in at work the last couple of days.
