Broken Stuff

It seems like the last couple weeks is about broken stuff. Angie was rear ended on her way to work. The car is broken. The refrigerator also decided to croak. Trying to catch up, gain back lost ground. We have a new car, very similar to the rudely smashed up car. I had it shipped from Texas. Also have a new a new fridge and backup freezer and fridge. Spring is very sprung. The pollen seems worse that usual this year. In Atlanta we complain about the traffic and the pollen, neither one is really as bad as we say.

I am a bit home sick this week. The lows at night in Duluth have gotten into the 60s. It is still touching the 90s in the afternoons.

I like the picture of guy working on the mega mart sign. I don't know why. It says something though. How big is big enough? The other pic captures a guy in a pickup with a flasher behind a cop. I am not sure what the whole story was. It was just weird to see a cop getting pulled over by a guy in a pick up. Weird.

After much discussion and research we have determined that we have recently returned from above the Arctic Circle. It was close however, the arctic circle is not as fixed as we would like to think. From Wikipedia: as of 30 August 2017, it runs 66°33′46.8″ north of the Equator. We took the following pics at 66 53" 74" N. More pics to follow.

Spring has sprung in Berkshire. The weather was great Saturday. I riggged up a tractor back-blade on the tractor and it has become a formatible dozer. We took the llamas for nice hike outback. The woods were as beautiful as expected; the buds are getting green and you can still see through the woods. Nothing is hidden by the leaves as it will be in a few months. I got some more sand for the garden and will be turning that in soon. The chickens have been having a great time picking bugs from around the house and letting us have their eggs. I went for a very nice plane ride a few days ago in a Cessna 172. The weather was near perfect. It was possibly one of my best flights ever. My interst in aviation is hightened lately; I was just reading about the DeHaviland Twin Otter aircraft. I am expecting to get a ride in one of these this year. It has been nice enjoying the coming on of Spring. The weather has been good, but a bit rainy. No oppressive heat yet. We are booking our summer vacation which is a reattempt of the Balkans trip that Covid thwarted in Dec 2021. It will be a busy trip. I create annual objectives for myself each year and work towards them. I have some cool projects, and new directions. I am generally good at accomplishing them. When I looked at my annual goals yesterday I noticed there was nothing about new vehicles or automotive projects. I am continuing the conversation with myself in regards to why I bought a military Humvee at auction this week. I have been looking and studying the auctions and I found the right deal and I was the successful bidder. The machine was less than 2 hours away and it is already delivered. Driving home from work I snapped this picture. The large tank-milk truck apparently didn't make the turn. Now the milk destined to children across our great land is hazmat waste. I am glad I don't live in that house. Good thing milk doesn't burn. The rain and combination of ice on the roads has made driving an absolute pain in the neck. There is a lot going on for sure. I have a teleconference with some folks for the "real" start up of the Antarctica Ham Radio organization. The core is three folks, one in Denver, one in NJ and the other, well that's me. It is always fun to be the start of something big. This is something big. We have the exact right mix of folks. Ham radio at the bottom of the world will not be the same in another year.
