The Nissan Leaf on the Farm

With tribute to USDA and other government furnished information of the post war advice converting Model-Ts to tractors --"Doodle Bugs". I towed the resurrected rear-ended 2013 Nissan Leaf up to Berkshire, NY from Duluth, GA. It is now in field trials as a farm machine in Upstate NY. Despite the lack of current ground clearance it is performing well in dirt and mud. Well, I got most of the electrical work done. I will finish it today.

We gave the injections to the llamas. In the process I managed to stick myself with the needle pretty good. It looks like I won't have those pesky mites bothering me either!

I picked up a cold-bug. It has been a quiet weekend. Not much fun, not much activity. I hired a guy to fix the dock. I am planning on some fences and things around the property. The goose seems like a loner and a bit mentally ill. We have named him "Buddy". He comes around and is a bit of a pest. We found some Russian ice cream at the Korean store the other day. It was great example that you don't need to travel to explore. Angie was in the UN last week.

Flying was fun last weekend. It was very gusty. The Metlife blimp was in town for the PGA thing. It couldn't fly because of the winds. There was a special NOTAM regarding the airship at the end of the runway. Between the airships, banner towing, and small jets Gwinett County airport it is a great place to maneuver as a new pilot. I was in Jacksonville, FL. Monday with my Mom and Sister. I flew down for the day.

Everywhere we go in Zancudo there are books (in English) to read. Relaxion is a serious vocation here. I read a good book yesterday. I was inspired. I am working on a travelogue for this trip besides the blog. the trip and the experience warrants extra attention. We got together with a bunch of US folks last night for a fish BBQ. It was fun. The stories were hilarious. This is the picture of the fancy restaurant we have been to several times. These are the choices. Great food. Comfort. Warmth and freedom.

Pilots Arms Next time you have the opportunity look at your pilot's arms. The arms are not strong in an obvious sense. You would think that the particular part of the hero-body that with literal single-handedness guides hundreds of tons of metal and humanity would be well-formed, masculine and muscular. In fact, these very arms countering fears of passengers actually appear weak, almost stick-like. The elbow seems to drop from the shoulder unsupported, without the expected thigh-sized bicep. The short sleeve appears large and underfilled. There are tendons strongly connected from the core without strenght, but filled with confidence and grace. In place of muscle there are highly developed nerves in the elbow and shoulder that firmly connect with the brain and the art of flight.
