Summer Starting to End on the Farm

It has been good spending time on the farm. I really had forgotten how quiet and dark it is here. It can actually be a bit unnerving. The leaf doodle bug was put to work in the forest. However, it looks like the car will be going back on the road. We can say it failed field trials,but that would only be partially true. The better utility value at this point is more suited to getting a teenager back and forth from high school. The mycological aspects of the farm did not disappoint. The pics of these shrooms are not photoshopped. The coal stove (very heavy) is loaded on the truck. It will be rebuilt in Georgia if I can save it. Coal stoves are increasingly out of production. When they are gone they are gone. The small wood stove is now in its place. The pic of the red sky in morning was indeed a warning of weather. We had strong storms and tornados in Upstate NY. Although I was travelling much that day in the area, I missed the worst of it.

Tuesday morning this week I woke up early for some meetings (I have a global job after all) and I spent some time reflecting. I remembered a book I read some time ago and some of the messages and started doing some cyber thinking -combination of googling and remembering. The warrior book. what was that? --"The Way of the Peaceful Warrior". the author? Yeah, Dan Millman. What is he up to? It turned out he was speaking in the Atlanta area Thursday. So Angel and I went and heard him speak and got a new copy of the book, now signed. Definitely a great book and definitely was worth our time. My belief is that it was not a coincidence he was in town at this time. He jumped in just as the main character Socrates jumps into his story. Og Mandino, Paulo Coelho, Dan Millman. These are my kind of authors. I remembered the individual that recommended the book to me at The Raymond Corporation. He was my right hand man. My boss told me he was getting fired. Things have been busy for sure. I have been doing some remodeling at the Georgia property. The best thing I heard was Angie asking, "Do you know what you are doing?" I almost wish I didn't know. But, then again I do like the confidence as I do know exactly what I am doing. I have always been busy learning.

I finally got the blog working again. Not sure what happened exactly, but I had to work through all the DNS settings again. Here are some pics from iceland not taken with the drone. It is a very cool place. Almost every scene around every hill is something different as if it was part of a simulated experience and the creators aren't finished yet. At points it felt very post-apocalyptic. The rugged black-crunchy terrain, being in dense clouds after being in lonely expanses and the smell of sulfur was quite different from the everyday stuff.

Iceland was a real hoot. It is a mecca for off-road, drone-toting, adventure seekers. There is a surprise around every mountain or glacier. There is considerable variety to the landscapes and near limitless long vistas for reflections. I will go back again. Here is a multi-million dollar view of Iceland. Here are few stills from the drone. I flew both in the rain and in winds over 40 mph. This is just a small sample.
