Carbon Monoxide!?

Weird. The smoke alarm went off, not incredibly odd when I am using the fireplace, but it wasn't the smoke detector. It was the CO alarm. I was totally surprised. It had never gone off as long as I have had one, over many many years. Yep, after resetting it a few times. It was getting a reading over 200 ppm CO. When I took it downstairs I got a reading near 300 ppm. I started getting light headed at this point. After thinking maybe the furnace heat exchanger failed and puzzling around a bit I figured out what happened. As part of the huge winter storm that recently covered almost half of the US, we lost our electricity. So, being well prepared, I rolled out the generator and started doing what I normally do. The generator (although it was completely outside) was creating CO to get in the house. Using the fireplace draft (and possibly other leaks) the whole house created a vacuum around the seal of the basement garage door. After the CO got into the house the forced air heat...

Drug Use

In this age of "pharma" it strikes me that we may be living in mass ignorance in regards to "pharma for social change". With modern abilities to synthesize most compunds and drugs (maybe all) isn't it conceivable that drugs could be created by organizations that can use these coumpounds to affect humans in the most disturbing ways. Years ago folks had no question that technology was and is used for intelligence and covert operations. Do we think that the "technology age" as it progresses into the "bio age" that these advances will be used for human manipulataion without their concent or knowledge? Any drug that is reported to take away "free will" and can be delivered to selected individuals through very casual interaction should get our attention.

It is very conceivable that variations and combinations of drugs briefly mentioned below are used to exploit others for social change. Or are we so naive that these drugs/weapons would not be used?

I will be using it for planting blueberries this coming year. It is good for all sorts of transplant crops. The guy I bought it from said he has recently sold three of them all to people from NY. It was a great deal so I figured it was justified to spend some money on a nice place to stay. Yeah we are back. Sorry for the delay. What a great trip. I have lots of more pics to post. Luckily we had left before the big earthquake. Interestingly. the epicenter was right where we went fishing. Here are a couple for starters. I had a pretty good seat on the plane ride huh? It was a great ride in a Cessna 208. It was very interesting for me and time flew watching the pilots. I learned a lot about turbine power plants. We caught 14 sailfish in one day. Fishing was excellent! The smallest one was about 80 pounds. The largest was over 15 feet long! In thinking about the fishing trip I realized the expereince cost more than my first boat. Then I thought then that the fish were bigger than my first boat. We caught well over a thousand pounds of fish. I didn't get a pic of a fish jumping, but I am still having the vision pop into my head.
