I am no longer part of the Vestry at Christ Church Norcross. I served my full term as the Buildings and Grounds liaison. It was three years. There were a lot of items to deal with over the years. But the effort wasn't the work. It was the responsibility and knowing that I wasn't doing enough. I think most people get that feeling with obligations. Maybe not. I am sure the time and responsibility will be quickly reallocated. When I signed on I figured I would learn something. Now I am thinking about what I learned along with the hows and whys. I think my Grandfather would have approved. The Normal Commute Between Duluth GA and Berkshire NY

We are back from Vacation. This time to the farm in NY and back.

The land swap with my neighbor is complete. I now have three entrances to the farm property. I am getting someone to put in the driveway on the most recent aquisition.

It was a lot of driving. I trailered a boat north and another boat south for some new friends. Boat trafficing we call it. We stopped in Washington DC (with a boat on a trailer) to see my Aunt and Sister. It was a good visit.

I spoke at the LavaCon this week. My presentation was very well received. There were well over 100 folks who chose to attend my presentation. Afterwards we had a supplier meeting in Cartersville and a hike up Pine Mountain. https://www.lavacon.org/ It was good to enjoy some brief moments with a llama as part of the conference. And it was good to meet up with lots of folks I have got to know over the years.

Send an alien a Postcard.. or a Blog for crying out loud. I saw something today that I had never seen before. I saw the end of the rainbow. Truely, it was the end of the rainbow. Although the photo does not show it, (since I had to boot the beast up...blah blah blah..) Anyway, the rainbow was clearly in the foreground of the trees in the pasture before I took this photograph. Bonnie and I were pretty much in awe. Although I do not believe in these things personally, I may be up in the pasture with a metal detector soon enough, ya know now. The little men appearing afterwards had little else to do with things either.

Late last week I out of town for an short "domestic trip" in Tampa. After returning I didn't quite get my prescriptions and vitamins back in their proper spot at home. Sunday, I was planning to read at Church. Since my pills were a bit misplaced, I accidentally took a sleeping pill just before heading off to Church. I punched through it all, but I "seemed a bit tired". You can't make this stuff up.

My kayak trip was awesome! So what happens when three restless boys want to do something exciting in Atlanta over the Thanksgiving holiday? Shoot the Hooch. Traverse the Chattahoochee river in grand style. We did it in a combination of couchsurfer, thrillseeker, and urban explorer (mostly Couchsurfer). We met for the first time last week. The participants, one from France (a recent MBA grad from Georgia Tech), one from California (a 20 something Mechanical Engineer) and me. We put in at the Buford Dam at Lake Lanier. We put in illegally since the park was closed. (I mean who would want to use a park on a holiday?) We parked illegally at both ends of the run (not sure of the reasons, but an accumulation of a $50 parking ticket). And, we camped illegally for two nights. So, let's add some danger with two beginner kayakers, and very fast water. It is very dangerous, at least one person has died in the Chattahoochee in the last year from swift water.
