I am back from another European trip. Meetings in Sweden, France and Belgium. Generally, a different hotel every night for a week, and 8 airline segments in 7 days-- pretty typical.

I see labels like this "SKUM" on the fire extinguisher all the time. No shortage of irony between western language variants for sure. There was a lot of snow and cold in Northern Sweden in the city of Umea. It was getting light about 8:00 in the morning and getting dark at 3:00 in the afternoon. It is the beginning of February after all. A menu in France I experienced and some food and views in Belgium.

Waiting and reacting to requests/emergencies and attention getters is not the way. I am refocusing on what needs to get done from my agenda not yours. Sorry, but I know this is a better technique for my personal productivity. Darryl Hudec's home built plane made the cover of Sport Aviation magazine this month. It is a beauty for sure. He flew it in for breakfast this weekend. We had Major Latessa Meader speak at the aviation breakfast this weekend regarding the C-130 aircraft. She is very accomplished in the aircraft. The aircraft is definately worthy of accolades. I had the opportunity to add my experiences with the LC-130 in Antarctica. Some of the traffic I get to expereince a couple times a week is still mind boggling to me. I tried to take a picture of the humanity that lines up on I-75 and often pokes along at 1/10 of the speed limit. You can't see all the lanes in the pic, but it is at least 9. the Tesla FSD helps. Blackout! What to do when the electricity fails Well we had quite a snow storm. The electricity is back on now. Actually it was only out for about 24 hours, but these things always seem to happen when you are not fully prepapred. I suppose that is the very nature of preparedness. Expecting the unexpected is not really straightforward. In fact it is impossible and it is a stupid cliche and a basic oxymoron. We had a bout 2 foot of snow in a day. We had a little from before, not much though. Here is a picture of the look outside when I got up. Mind you I plowed and cleared snow before I went to bed. ..and after I made the initial cleanup with the snow blower and bobcat.

Summer has Broken!

Relief. Summer seems to be on the way out which means perfect weather here in Duluth Georgia. Gracie the cat being friendly on her "Fun boards". I attached a number of pine boards (fun boards) on the walls in the porch (cat room) afew years ago. She is starting to use them more. I would have thought that a cat would love them. They are up high, great visibility, exclusive use for cats... but the cat makes the final decision. My 2017 Chevy Service Truck just turned over 30k Miles. So I drive it less than 5k a year and most of those miles are on trips, most to the farm in NY and back. Here is a pic of me showing me with a portion of my shop. (It doesn't show my electronics bench or the racks and racks of stuff.) The bench is clean and that was the reason for the pic. It's a very rare situation. Well I am down in Florida. This is day two of the meeting. I decided to skip the golf/fishing excursions scheduled for tommorow. We are short handed. I will help rip the booths down and do what needs to be done. I have a very active imagination. I have a tendancy to get carried away with thoughts about things I am doing right and wrong. Bonnie tells me to relax. Telling me to relax does little to help me relax, though. I seem to have a habit of thinking the worst out of situations sometimes. I think that perhaps I have always been that way. I think I may be well enough adjusted nowadays, that I notice these feelings more. I will fly home Sunday Morning.

A WW II Veteran, Toastmaster friend and ham radio operator pased away. Tom was at our Regular Susquehanna Toastmaster meeting the previous week. He was the timer. He was telling us how some of his relatives were put in the Japanese detention camps for the duration of the war, while he was in battle. I will miss him. Thomas Ichikawa of Owego Thomas Ichikawa, 89, of Owego, passed away at home unexpectedly Thursday evening, May 6, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kiyo Ichikawa; his son, Gordon Ichikawa, Owego; two sisters, Mary Niimi, Portland, Oregon, and Ada Honda, Spokane, Washington; also, several nieces and nephews. Tommy, as he was affectionately known, was a graduate of Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. Tommy served in WWII in the U.S. Army, serving as Battalion Combat Radio Sergeant in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team consisting of Japanese Americans called Nisei. He was awarded the P
