Colleagues from Japan

We had two colleagues from Japan join my team for two weeks. It was a great expereince to share cultures, workflows and real work expereince for comparison between the US and Japan. We did lot of activitys outside of work and had some fun. Angie joined for on the weekend activities. It will be a very memorable time for all involved.

This weekend I am in an exotic locale. Atlanta! Exploring is a state of mind not a place on the map or expensive arrangements. I went flying flying Sunday, pretty routine. I didn't take a single pic. Weird.

When a bird is alive, it eats ants. When the bird is dead, ants eat the bird.

I am planning a cool trip up north, Boston area for my birthday with family, then speaking at a conference in Providence RI and rounding things out with NYC and a nice tour of the familiar Upstate, NY State.

Smithville NY I ran my first ever 5K race this morning over in Smithville NY. Smithville is the town that has a great old unrestored mill. The mill captured my attention when I stated looking for property just after I decided to take the job down this way. I hope someday it gets restored. It feels good to do something that is good for yourself for the first time. You have to get over the natural resistance of something new (the biggest hurdle), plan, execute, and reflect. I have now moved into reflect. It was a marathon for me. I am planning on running in the Berkshire Heritage 5k later this summer too. Maybe another one, if there is another one close by. I fueled up last night on some of Bonnie's most excellent Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies. My exercise bike generator project is working now pretty good. Well, they managed to ply loose one of Bonnie's stones. The other big one (6.8 mm)is bypassed with a stint and it awaits lipotripsy. It appears I can take her home tonight.
