The difference in making it or not is in assiduousness. No matter what it is.

I am back from 8 days in Brazil, both in the North and the South. I had many "peak experiences" during this time. I spent three days in Petrolina which is on the border of Northern States of Pernambucu and Bahia. It is a semi-arid area on the San Fransisco River. The river is damned at this location creating a reservoir only second in size to the "3 gorges project in China". The area reminds me in climate to southern California. The irrigation and the sun makes a great place for citrus and the like. We went to a Gal Costa concert, a river boat ride and lots of other fun activities in a short amount of time. Goat meat (bode) is a specialty in the area and source of local attention. The domestic flight into Petrolini had such a hard landing we bounced enough to warrant a go around. That happens in my little planes as we are learning, it is uncommon with a large commercial jet, for sure. We all lived and the fire equipment stayed at the station. I was very proud of my
I completed my bi-annual flight review. Good. We had a neighborhood garage sale, and we participated, made a few bucks and got the exercise and refreshed/repacked "the stuff". We found a couple very useful items as well that we put to use, (didn't remember it was in storage). Earlier in the week we went downtown and met briefly with a former US Ambassador to Venezuela.
I have almost two weeks at my new job and they are trusting me with some expensive product :-). I got to operate an excavator and a large off-road dump truck. It was a fun bit of training and since I work out of a training center, quite convienient. That is me in the cab.
I went to a party last weekend. It was casual and good. Summer sure is nice around here. It is off to another party today. I took friday off again to try and get stuff done. The bobcat, jeep, and all three chainsaws are fixed. I had a welder come up to the farm and get the fork attachment done for the bobcat. It was expensive, but it is done. It is a critical weld job. His welds are a thing of beauty. The plane was at the party at McKinney field. It is a highly modified Tri-pacer. It is classified as an experimental. I am planning a cross coutry with my mentor Monday night. Greene to Cortland to Norwich to Sidney to Greene. That will be fun.
I am always interested in new experiences. Well, most new expereiences if they are not obviously dreadful. I have a new commute to my new job. Google maps says its an hour. In practice it is longer (in my straight up following lord and master maps of Google) due to car wrecks, and general bullshit. I don't have to be in the office everyday but a long commute is new to me. I am evaluating it. I am listening to audio books which is a great use of time that I otherwise probably wouldnt be doing. I dont have any pictures, I am too busy watching the road ahead for flashes of brake lights and nutso drivers.
