LavaCon 2026 and the future.

LavaCon is a conference now going on 25 years. Its always fun at conferences where folks collaborate on what the future holds. This year I drove to Charlotte NC from Duluth GA to attend. I used the Tesla in Full Self Drive. I went park-to-park without touching the wheel for over 200 miles. It's crazy. I don't think most people understand how well it works. Lots of nay-sayers still, but it really does work. Be on guard, but enjoy. I spent some of my time "driving" while conversing with Grok as part of my daydreaming. I was discussing with Grok an idea I have of building a West system (cold molded) old style barrel-back runabout maybe 20 feet long- all varnished Mahogony. Of course this boat would have an exotic 12-cylinder engine under a transparent engine hatch between the twin cockpits. I was up in NY over Labor day weekend. It was good, but a bit depressing. Douglas and I managed to get the Land Rover Stuck in a new spring we located. It had never been wet in that area before. We got it out with a MF 471 Tractor. It was good to catch up with the neighbors.

My friend Dennis was in Atlanta for a conference. We had a few nice dinners together. It was a good excuse to invite a few friends out for dinner. I have been in Tampere Finland. Very pleasant. The clean air and relaxed safe attitude is all worthy of attention.

Vivid Dreams

I had a very vivid dream a few nights ago. It was so vivid I woke up. I wasn't scared or anything; it was just vivid. The general thematic conflict was "Man against Martians or the Extraterrestrial". When I remember dreams I always try to analyze them. It is a great window into inner space. Like I said it was quite vivid and the amazing details that comes with the word... vivid. Alternatively, the dream represents your desire to escape from your daily life.

It is Summer! at least everywhere in the Northern Hemisphere. I am in Atlanta for a few weeks it looks like. Bill and I went flying today. I haven't been taking many photos when flying lately; I am not sure why. It was hazy, but generally very nice flying conditions. I fired my landscaper so now I am stuck with lawn work for awhile at least. The yard still has surprises with flowers here and there. It has been very wet in Atlanta. The lawns are still very green and I don't know if it has been over 90 degrees more than just a couple of times. I have lots of things to do on my lists for sure. I have been relaxing too. That might seem strange to people who have known me for a long time. Also, here is a picture of the drive from NY back down to Atlanta last Sunday and one of our antique tractors going somewhere.
