Wyoming and Idaho

We are back from a quick vacation. I managed to score three (actually several more) bucket list items in 4 days. 1.) Long Snowmobile Trip. 2.) Yellowstone Park and 3.) Wyoming. I reached my 50th State --Wyoming! And we took a 90 mile snowmobile trip in Yellowstone National Park. We went to the "Craters of the Moon--National Monument and Preserve" in Idaho and also stopped at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) where I got to see (with my own eyes) the very cool nuclear powered twin turbojet engine. It was a successful experiment in the 1950s and 1960s. https://whatisnuclear.com/safety-minutes/htre-3-meltdown.html Of course, I had my Radiacode scintillation detector with me and yes, the apparatus is "Hot". The screenshot of the readings from my three walk-arounds the artifact. I swear you could smell the radiation. There was a very un-natural burnt smell something reminiscent of burned bakelite. Although, I am quite certain the emitted radition was not the source...

Busy Busy Busy. I am working on getting a new strategy on getting stuff done. The busy way isn't very good.

Waiting and reacting to requests/emergencies and attention getters is not the way. I am refocusing on what needs to get done from my agenda not yours. Sorry, but I know this is a better technique for my personal productivity.

Darryl Hudec's home built plane made the cover of Sport Aviation magazine this month. It is a beauty for sure. He flew it in for breakfast this weekend.

We had Major Latessa Meader speak at the aviation breakfast this weekend regarding the C-130 aircraft. She is very accomplished in the aircraft. The aircraft is definately worthy of accolades. I had the opportunity to add my experiences with the LC-130 in Antarctica.

Some of the traffic I get to expereince a couple times a week is still mind boggling to me. I tried to take a picture of the humanity that lines up on I-75 and often pokes along at 1/10 of the speed limit. You can't see all the lanes in the pic, but it is at least 9. the Tesla FSD helps. I get to watch scenery more. It helps having another set of eyes on the road and the legitimate crazy drivers.

Yes, I am still taking pictures of large bugs even after living in Georgia for nearly 15 years.
