Wyoming and Idaho

We are back from a quick vacation. I managed to score three (actually several more) bucket list items in 4 days. 1.) Long Snowmobile Trip. 2.) Yellowstone Park and 3.) Wyoming. I reached my 50th State --Wyoming! And we took a 90 mile snowmobile trip in Yellowstone National Park. We went to the "Craters of the Moon--National Monument and Preserve" in Idaho and also stopped at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) where I got to see (with my own eyes) the very cool nuclear powered twin turbojet engine. It was a successful experiment in the 1950s and 1960s. https://whatisnuclear.com/safety-minutes/htre-3-meltdown.html Of course, I had my Radiacode scintillation detector with me and yes, the apparatus is "Hot". The screenshot of the readings from my three walk-arounds the artifact. I swear you could smell the radiation. There was a very un-natural burnt smell something reminiscent of burned bakelite. Although, I am quite certain the emitted radition was not the source...

This past week we obtained a second cat. It was a long search (years) with previous disappointments. But, we have our dream cat Jewel at home now. She is getting to know Gracie. It is a change for all four of us. Jewel is a Turkish Angora kitten with the very rare condition of Heterochromia Iridum (different color or odd eyed). The cat pic is not photoshopped. She has one blue and eye and one yellow eye. Often cats with this rare condition are deaf in at least one ear, not Jewel. She's a beauty and she is extraordinary sweet. Jewel Gracie

A couple of videos for our last vacation. This is a video taken aboard a river boat to the caves on the Mekong river. We embarked in Luang Prabang Laos --Dec 24, 2019 We stopped for a Milk Tea in a cafe and waited for the rain to stop. Great people watching at a normal intersection in Hanoi with no traffic control devices-- none. Dec 26, 2019

I haven't blogged in awhile. I guess I am still decompressing from our most excellent, but crazy vacation in SE Asia. Things really went as planned. We first started considering the trip and these counties over a year ago and bought the transpacific flights 6 months prior. We were making reservations up to the day before we left. We had 10 flight segments in 14 days. For clarification, we made no tight connections. We did have one long connection in Seoul (12 Hours). We didn't need a hotel since we landed at 5:00 AM and left at 6:00 PM. We had breakfast/brunch in the 4-seasons hotel downtown. I used their business center for some personal business. Never stayed in the hotel. Although the Royal Brunei ticket was to/from Brunei, it was not a layover, but still a a single ticket. Also, we had no morning flights. All flights were in the evening, so we could sleep, albeit in economy. Early morning flights were invented by the devil to totally "F" you up. The money you sav...
