LavaCon 2025

Image
I spoke at the LavaCon this week. My presentation was very well received. There were well over 100 folks who chose to attend my presentation. Afterwards we had a supplier meeting in Cartersville and a hike up Pine Mountain. https://www.lavacon.org/ It was good to enjoy some brief moments with a llama as part of the conference. And it was good to meet up with lots of folks I have got to know over the years.

I spent some time in Northern Georgia this past week. I had a great Southern Style breakfast at Ross diner and was captivated by the condensate clouds from the power plant in the cold dry air.

Canary Lake Duluth, GA Drained

Image
We drained Canary Lake on which my home has frontage. Generally speaking, all lakes in Georgia are man made by means of building a dam. Canary Lake is no different. We are assesing the silt levels and other maintenance items. Time to get some dock work done. We will get it filling back up in a couple of weeks. It has been 22 years since it was last drained. I was hoping for some artifacts to surface, but nothing of any significance has appeared.
